In this talk Dr. Deng will give a brief introduction to the basic concept of U.S. Patent. She will also quantitatively and qualitative analyze the advantage of U.S. Patent. The procedure of applying the U.S. Patent will be presented from both the view of applicant and layer. Dr. Deng will also introduce the application of U.S. Patent from researcher’s direction.
報告人簡介:
Dr. Deng is the lawyer in Nixon Vanderhye P.C., who’s practices involve all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution, especially in the fields of computer and electrical engineering.
Dr. Deng earned her Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Deng’s publications appeared in journals and conferences in the areas of communication networks and software engineering. She won the best paper award at an international conference on networking. She also published a book chapter in Advances in Machine Learning Applications in Software Engineering. Dr. Deng has served on the technical program committee or organization committee for multiple international conferences on networking communication and software engineering. She was a member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Prior to attending law school, Dr. Deng was a member of technical staff at Juniper Networks, Inc, where she co-developed framework to support large scale enterprise network management solutions. She holds a U.S. patent in merging schemas of different versions of network devices for her work done in Juniper Networks. She also interned at AT&T labs, Inc, where she worked on Network System Engineering Optimization tools across PSTN, Transport and Broadband.
Dr. Deng was a graduate of William and Mary School of Law, where she served as a co-vice president of Student Intellectual Property Society.
